We are devoting research efforts to develop new irrigation systems, water and energy saving in this case, water storage polymers as an alternative to traditional irrigation.
We have available, for development of new projects, a field test with an area of 30,000 m2 approx., outdoors, equipped with the latest technologies: fertilizer, irrigation, etc... Here, and in collaboration with different laboratories, we performe development projects of new products and varieties, and we are developing and testing new forms of cultivation.
All our actions are aimed at finding a sustainable development of agriculture. The present and future projects are based on the principles of respect for the environment, ecology and health, and energy savings.
CIFE Lorca
Several developments of artichoke seed plantations (new varieties) which studies the improvement in the acclimation to our climate, for better performance and fruit quality.
Also a pioneering project to develop organic artichoke.
Broccoli sprouts
It has been shown that the cultivation of sprouts ensures greater concentration of beneficial components of vegetables. Broccoli sprouts increase the already considerable level of phenolic compounds.
At this point, we are collaborating with Cebas for the development of this product and its subsequent implementation on the market.
New product development together with the Company Sakata:
Products with higher concentrations of healthy compounds. With almost no fiber, allowing to be totally consumed. Taste much softer than any other vegetable in its class.
